This morning, I took Silas to story time, downtown at His Hers Antiques and Collectibles very own Tea Room. Story time is every Wednesday this Summer. The cost for participants is $5 and includes a snack. The stories that are selected are targeted for 1st through 3rd grade students and the books are from a Summer reading list provided by the Tupelo Public School District. This week the story was Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Gushy Valentime, a charming story about a spunky first grader and her secret admirer! Silas giggled many times during the story because in some ways he can relate to the mischief and spunkiness of Junie B. Jones and her first grade drama (lol). The story time lady reads with such charisma and makes story time a wonderful experience. Silas enjoyed it so much! We stayed for Lunch and I had a delicious Henny Penny (chicken salad sandwich) with fruit and an iced tea prepared by the lovely Charlcy Ray. The tea room is a fun place to come enjoy tasty treats and make fun memories! The servers in the Tea Room are volunteers and all tips go towards their organization. Today we had a kind server that was raising money for Tupelo Ballet. Tea for T'arts is actually a play on words; T'arts stands for Tupelo arts! Have some tea, talk in a fun British accent, and support your community arts! Also, there are so many beautiful things to look at in the antique store including vintage clothes, hats, linens, and jewelry. This is definitely a hidden gem of Tupelo that I wanted to share with my Tupeloves!
